Traditional German Wassail

A German holiday tradition. Enjoyed in restaurants, ski sloops, outdoor markets and Kris Kringle markets throughout Germany.

  • 2 litres Burgundy wine
  • 1 litre water
  • 1 1/2 cups of honey
  • 3 sliced lemons
  • 3 sliced oranges
  • 2 sliced limes
  • 6 bags Olde Tradition Spice mulling spice

In a large kettle add wine, water, honey, lemon, orange and limes. Heat to simmering but do not boil. Put in Olde Tradition Spice mulling spice bags and let steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Serve warm. Garnished with orange or lemon slices and cinnamon stick.
